People say, “If you really love someone, you’ll never let him/her go.” Or “If you love someone, you’ll be there for him/her always.”

But… There are times when their words hurt you so much because they mean a huge place in you or that they had rejected you so many times, that you think, “Maybe I should really let go.”

That’s when they’ll think, “You never cared for me.” Or “You weren’t there when I needed you/your support most.” Or something along that line.

At times like these, you’ll just have to smile and take the blame or apologise, and just turn around to walk away without explanation because only you know that you’ve tried.
